Revamped in July 2014, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University's website www.p9569.com has received the "Best in Class Award" in the Interactive Media AwardsTM 2014, and an Honors Award in the 14th Annual International iNOVA Awards.
Organized by the Interactive Media Council, Inc. (a non-profit organization), the Interactive Media AwardsTM (IMA) is an international competition aiming to raise the standards of excellence in designing, developing, managing, supporting and promoting websites. All entries would be judged according to five specific criteria including design, content, feature functionality, usability and standards compliance under a scoring system to receive a maximum of 500 points (i.e. 100 points for each criterion).
The "Best in Class Award" is the highest honour given to entries which scored 480-500 points in the competition. Award-winning projects demonstrate a high level of performance in planning, execution and overall professionalism.
There were 92 entries submitted in the "University" category in 2014 award year and nine projects have been presented the "Best in Class Award" so far. The PolyU website scored a total of 493 points, with scores for individual judging criterion as follows:
Feature Functionality: 100
Standards Compliance: 100
Meanwhile, the PolyU website has also won an Honors Award under the category of Corporate Website (Education) in the 14th Annual International iNOVA Awards. Entries to the iNOVA Awards would be judged in areas such as concept, content, creativity, ease of navigation, design, functionality, etc. Top 30% of entries in each category would be recognized in the Awards.
